The para-snowboarder claimed the silver medal in the snowboard-cross (SBX) and the bronze in the banked slalom (BSL) at the event that ran from February 10-13.
The event at Big White was the third World Cup meeting of the season and Badenhorst has improvement on her mind at the half-way point of the season.
“I am incredibly happy with both bronze and silver because I know I give 110 per cent in every race,” she said.
“But – there is no such thing as a perfect race and I know that I am more than capable of doing even better.
“So, for the next race I need to make sure I am in the right headspace and follow my pre-race routine. Make sure I control what I can and accept what I can’t.”
Badenhorst not only has to overcome physical barriers but mental as well.
The wrist, which she broke after a training fall a year ago, is going well but home sickness creeps into her mind from time to time.
“This has been an incredibly long and intense season – my longest overseas to date – and it’s been very difficult to say the least,” Badenhorst said.
“When I get homesick I just remind myself that I am incredibly blessed with this opportunity to train, live and compete overseas – and we are already reaping the rewards.
“I am really looking forward to being home though, seeing family and friends and getting back to life in Australia.
Badenhorst will now complete a two week training block in Austria before heading to Les Angles, France for SBX and BSL.
The final stop of the season will be at Trentino, Italy which will host the final round of the World Cup season as well as the finals.
After that, Badenhorst will return to Australia where she will have surgery on her wrist to fix the nerve damage and remove the plate and screws.
