The Greens only scored 12 points but it was enough to defeat the Mallee Chicks who weren’t able to crack Leeton’s line.
Cecilia Smith scored a first half double for Leeton and Anna Poulsen knocked over the extras for both tries to give the Greens a 12-0 lead.
The score wouldn’t change for the remainder of the match as Leeton ground out the win.
It was a complete turnaround from the sides’ previous meeting – just last week – where West Wyalong ran away with a convincing 26-12 win.
The Greens will now face the Hay Magpies next weekend.
For West Wyalong, it’s do or die time.
The Mallee Chicks will take on the Griffith Black and White Panthers who beat the Yenda Blueheelers – in another low-scoring match – 12-10 on Saturday.
